About the Artist
Hi, I am a proud Yorta Yorta, Ulupna, Wiradjuri woman. I take pride in my culture and am thankful to be part of such an amazing community. My pa was a member of the Stolen Generation so growing up I didn't feel I had much of a connection to my culture but since moving back to Werribee I now have some very beautiful caring Aunties, Uncles, Tiddas, brothers, cousins around me who make me always feel so welcome. In the last two years alone I have learnt so much about my culture and I feel a deeper connection to our land. Art has always been a blessing to me whilst battling with mental illness, it has therapeutic benefits. I have always loved art but have only just started exploring it more and trying all different mediums (I only ever used grey led and charcoal when I was younger). I love hearing the stories that go with artworks and am thankful that I have the opportunity to have my artwork displayed amongst some very talented artists.

About the Artwork
Inspired by this year’s NAIDOC theme Keep the Fire Burning, I had a vision of Aboriginal Elders dancing around a camp fire with Australian animals watching them.
