About the Artist
I’m a Yorta Yorta/Wiradjuri woman who is self taught and have only been painting for 12 months. I enjoy painting animals usually but l had a vision of doing a self portrait and showing my journey growing up as an Indigenous woman.
About the Artwork
Self portrait depicting my life as an Indigenous woman growing up in white society. My journey, traumas and now my strengths. It shows how after 55 years of pain I’m now emerging proud of who I am.
