About the Artist J.Ellis is a Yorta Yorta artist who first joined the Torch program in 2023. J.Ellis practices her art using acrylic on canvas and she likes to paint flowers, birds and nature. Her artwork shares stories of hope, self-growth and connection to her family. Painting was a way to pass time constructively for J.Ellis whilst in prison but she has continued with creating since being released and uses it as a way to express herself. About the Artwork Capturing some of the vibrant colours of our land, this painting tells a story of friends and family holding close bonds even when they are separated by distance and live all over the Country.
