About the Artist
Born in Darlinghurst in 1989, Blake Miles is an Eora man hailing from Gadigal land in New South Wales. Blake was introduced to art from a young age, inspired by his artist father who ultimately influenced Blake’s decision to be an artist himself. Blake’s childhood was marked by extensive travel across Australia, providing him with a unique perspective of the Australian landscape that he now brings to life in his art. His experiences of viewing the land from above, inspired by his mother’s career as a flight attendant, have deeply influenced his artistic vision. Through his artwork, Blake seeks to evoke a physical and emotional connection with viewers. He hopes that those who engage with his art will appreciate it in a similar way, to see the world through his eyes an find their own meaning in it.
