About the Artist
Aaron Eastment is an Indigenous artist of Wiradjuri Country and Mabuiag Island (Torres Strait Islands) heritage.

Aaron loves to play with balance and depth, and this is often reflected by using symmetrical patterns and flashes of metallic colours.

His proud heritage has given him a deep appreciation for the land and seas of his family and ancestors, which provide inspiration for his work. Natural landscapes, as well as seascapes and the night sky play an integral role in his creative process.

About the Artwork
This painting is to represent my family and culture and our connection to the Waru (turtle). I wanted to include the coral reefs and jellyfish that are closely tied to the ecosystem.
