My work celebrates the beauty and colour of our natural landscape, not just our flowers but also other elements such as our small bees, which I’ve hidden throughout. I am drawn to vibrant hues in my work and our flowers seemed a perfect subject. By focusing on our native flowers and insects I hope for the viewer to further consider the beauty and complexity of even those smaller elements of nature when next out on Country.
My people are the Djaara/Dja Dja Wurrung and Wolithica Yorta-Yorta of Victoria and Jaru of Western Australia. Members of my Community and family have shared their knowledge with me over my life which has contributed to my artistic practice. I am someone who loves to explore the marrying together of the art styles of my cultures with high colour mediums and elements.
I have experience in acrylic, ink and watercolour mediums, as well as digital artwork and vectors. I am always keen to build on my skill set and see the extent of my capabilities in expressing my culture, building on my ceramic skills, as well as print making, pyrography, metal working and welding, and never shy from giving it a go.
