When the dragonfly hatches, my people know that its time to collect bush tucker. I love this artwork as it brings back beautiful memories of my family and the good times.
My name is Marie Rawson. I am a Ballardong Noongar woman, now living in Naarm on the Wurundjeri Country of the Kulin Nation.
I grew up living on Ballardong Country, I enjoyed walking with my family gathering bush medicine and bush tucker. I joined an Aboriginal Community Art Group in Fremantle 2005. Where I learnt more about painting and different tools and techniques. Currently I paint in my own time, usually giving my art to family and friends.
