This painting represents sitting inside a cave and looking out to the beautiful countryside. The rainbow serpent represents our creator. The Goanna represents my Nan's mob Wiradjuri people and the crocodile represents strength within you.
My name is Daniel Mazzonetto, I am 30 years old and I am a proud Yorta Yorta/Wiradjuri man.
I grew up around Shepparton and Echuca on the Murray River. When I was young I used to watch my mother paint, I loved watching her as a kid seeing all the colours and learning about my culture through her art. My favourite thing was watching her using different blues in the same painting, now to this day I love working with different blues in my paintings.
Watching my mother back when I was a kid is what led me to pick up a paint brush, I have now been doing my own art for over 10 years and haven't put a paint brush down still.
